New Nvidia RTX 40 Super cards rumoured to release during January 2024

Rumours have been circulating about Nvidia's plans to unveil the next generation of GeForce RTX 40 Super graphics cards in a ‘Special Address' on January 8th at CES 2024. According to sources, the company will reportedly release the first RTX 40 Super cards nine days after the announcement.

According to ITHome, Nvidia plans to launch the new RTX 40 Super SKUs separately. The GeForce RTX 4070 Super will be released on January 17th, followed by the RTX 4070 Ti Super on January 24th. The RTX 4080 Super will be the last one, with an expected release date of January 31st.

Although the clock rates remain unknown, it is widely speculated that the RTX 4070 Super will feature the AD104 GPU with 7,168 CUDA cores, 12GB of VRAM, and a TDP of 225W. The RTX 4070 Ti Super, on the other hand, is said to have an AD103 GPU with 8,448 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6X memory, all in a 285W TDP. Lastly, the RTX 4080 Super will feature the full AD103 GPU with 10,240 CUDA cores, 16GB of VRAM, and a 320W TDP.

Although the RTX 4080 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super are expected to replace current SKUs, early rumours suggest that the RTX 4070 Super will coexist alongside the RTX 4070. Additionally, all RTX 40 Super versions will have 12VHPWR connectors, with no plans for regular 8-pin connectors for these cards. It remains to be seen if Nvidia will launch its own Founder Edition cards, which have not been formally announced yet.
