In a recent video titled “2025 Platform Outlook,” the well-known Chinese leaker, Golden Pig Upgrade, reported on AMD's upcoming plans for the laptop segment in 2025 and 2026. In addition to the Strix Halo iGPU naming, the report mentions Strix and Kraken Point refreshes, Fire Range high-end laptop CPUs, and RDNA 4 laptop GPUs.
Lately, AMD's iGPU naming convention has been something like the x00M series, as seen from the 600M, 700M and 800M iGPU series released by AMD in the last few years. However, with Strix Halo, it seems things are about to change for its iGPUs. According to the Golden Pig Upgrade (via VideoCardz), the Strix Halo platform will introduce a new visual naming convention aligned with the AMD Radeon RX 8000 series launch in early 2025. However, it's important to note that these integrated graphics won't carry the RX branding, nor will they be based on the RDNA4 GPU architecture. Instead, they'll use the RDNA3.5 architecture.

The most powerful iGPU within the Halo lineup reportedly features 40 CUs and is to be named Radeon 8060S. Then, there's the 8050S, which houses 32 CUs, and a 16-CU variant that remains to be named (8040S?). In addition, the leak also hinted at a new Ryzen AI Max APU, which would come with 6 Zen5 cores and the 16-CU.
Looking ahead to 2025 and 2026, the roadmap shared by Golden Pig Upgrade indicates refreshes for the Strix Point and Kracken (Point) platforms. This refresh could include modest XDNA (NPU) performance enhancements, though specific details remain scant. The leaker also reiterated the expected rebranding of Hawk Point as the Ryzen 200 series, which is anticipated to be released next year. However, unlike its counterparts, it will lack the upgraded XDNA 2.0 NPU that meets Microsoft's Copilot + standard.
Meanwhile, the Fire Range series, the successor to the Dragon Range, was also mentioned, although detailed specifications are still under wraps. This series is aimed at the enthusiast mobile segment, typically characterized by a TDP of 55W, and will feature the same I/O die as its predecessor. However, integrated graphics will remain tied to RDNA2, just like the Ryzen 9000 desktop counterparts. There are also updates on memory support for the Fire Range series, which are rumoured to support 5600 MT/s.
As for the Radeon RX 8000M series, it's still unclear how many SKUs are planned. At present, it's known that AMD is working on Navi 4x GPUs, with the possibility of multiple SKUs across different chips. Golden Pig's leak indicates that the RDNA4 mobile portfolio will include four undetermined SKUs with a maximum power draw of 175W. The top SKU, rumoured to be the R25M-E6, is anticipated to offer 16 GB of VRAM with a 256-bit memory bus. AMD is also developing an alternative R25M-E4 model, expected to follow the same 80-175W TGP of the E6 model.
The other two GPUs, the R25M-P6 and R25M-P4, are set to target lower maximum power levels at 130W and 150W, respectively. The R25M-P GPU models are also expected to feature 8 GB of VRAM across 128-bit memory buses.
