Gigabyte’s new RTX 4090 Windforce V2 graphics card has a hidden 12VHPWR connector

Gigabyte has overhauled its RTX 4090 WindForce design. Compared to the original design, which was 3.5 slots thick and featured an extensive heatsink that extended beyond the board, the V2 is slimmer and showcases an unconventional backside design with a concealed power connector.

In the new cooler design, the 12VHPWR connector remains attached to the board but has been relocated to the back. If you mount this card in the traditional way, the cable will be exposed, but this solution still improves cable management and reduces concerns about the necessary clearance for cable bending. However, those who mount the card vertically will be able to hide the cable.

We've learned about this graphics card from @harukaze5719, as Gigabyte has not made an official announcement about this model to the general public. Instead, it was quietly added to the Gigabyte website alongside the existing RTX 4090 models.

Both the original RTX 4090 WindForce and the updated WindForce V2 design do not come factory overclocked. They adhere to Nvidia's reference specifications and power requirements. The new model retains the same length as its predecessor (33.1 cm), but it is narrower (13.6 cm versus 15.0 cm) and thinner (5.5 cm versus 7.0 cm).
