While Geekbench results aren't always the most reliable indicator of real-world gaming performance, they can still be interesting to check out. The latest ones to be found were of Nvidia's upcoming RTX 5070, showing it performing on par with the RTX 4070 Super in the Vulkan and OpenCL tests.
The leaked benchmarks, conducted on a system with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32 GB of memory, and an X870E motherboard, show the RTX 5070 tested with Vulkan and OpenCL APIs (via Benchleaks). Interestingly, the reported memory speed for the system memory was 4000 MT/s, which is likely an error or a misconfiguration.
In the Vulkan test, the RTX 5070 scored 188,712 points, while the OpenCL test yielded 187,414 points. Comparing these results to the RTX 4070 Super, which scores around 180,000 in Vulkan and 190,000 in OpenCL, suggests that the RTX 5070 might offer performance roughly on par with its predecessor. Comparing the RTX 5070 to its more powerful sibling, the RTX 5070 Ti, reveals a more significant performance gap. The 5070 Ti scores approximately 236,850 in Vulkan and 240,750 in OpenCL, indicating that the non-Ti variant is roughly 20% slower.
Nvidia is expected to launch the RTX 5070 on March 4th, so we won't have to wait longer to see how these Geekbench scores compare to real-world benchmarks.
