Computex 2024: Nvidia launches new SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce program

Nvidia has introduced the SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce Card program, aimed at gamers interested in building compact systems with GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards. This initiative involves collaboration with various industry players, such as board partners, case manufacturers, power supply providers, and other component designers, to meet specific criteria.

The program provides a selection of recommended cases and ‘Enthusiast' GeForce GPUs. Per the specifications, the minimum recommended GPU that meets the criteria is the RTX 4070. The requirements specify a maximum thickness of 2.5 slots (50mm), with dimensions of 304mm in length and 151mm in height, including the power cord.

The program already includes a few cards, including the Asus ProArt series. All these cards share identical dimensions, simplifying the inclusion of all SKUs in the list, including the RTX 4080 Super. The list also hints at the upcoming release of the Palit Infinity 3 series while noting the arrival of the Zotac 4070 Blower design, a departure from Nvidia's conventional custom card designs.

Despite the SFF-Ready guidelines not encompassing the Mini-ITX form factor, this marks Nvidia's initial step towards standardising the architecture of its cards. This move suggests that board partners may prioritise adherence to these specifications in the future rather than push for larger designs.

KitGuru says: It will be nice to see more SFF-friendly GPU options for the current generation. Graphics cards got notably larger in recent years, with the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 shocking many at launch.
