AMD seemingly confirms 60 Compute Units for Navi 32

We already know the specs for the upcoming Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards, but other RX 7000 series GPUs are still a mystery. We're starting to get a good idea of what the RX 7800 will offer though, as code found in a recent AMD software update has revealed new details about the upcoming Navi 32 GPU. 

As spotted by Kepler, the latest update for AMD's ROCm software contains a code string for Navi 32, another line of code shows that this GPU will pack 60 Compute Units (CUs), which means it should have 3,840 Stream Processors (SPs). The Navi 32 GPU is expected to power the Radeon RX 7800 series graphics cards.

In the code, we can also confirm that the Navi 33 GPU (RX 7600 series/7700 mobile) will come with a CU count of 32, as previously reported. In terms of workgroup and stream processor count, that translates to 16 and 2,048, respectively.

AMD will release the Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards on December 13th. We don't know when AMD will announce or release the graphics cards using the Navi 32 and 33 GPUs, but with CES 2023 coming up in just over a month, there's a chance we will hear more about them soon.

KitGuru says: If AMD releases a Radeon RX 7800 XT based on the Navi 32 GPU, it would have fewer CUs than its predecessor. However, the new CUs are pretty different, as they can work as either a SIMD64 or two SIMD32 (dual-queue), offering more performance than the older CUs.
