AMD rumoured to launch Radeon RX 7650 GRE at CES 2025

AMD appears to be developing a new GPU model under the GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) series, the Radeon RX 7650 GRE. Despite the upcoming Year of the Snake, AMD intends to retain the GRE moniker for now.

Initially created for exclusive release in China to commemorate the Year of the Rabbit in 2022, the GRE GPUs entered the Western market earlier this year with the Radeon RX 7900 GRE. The other AMD GRE GPU is the Radeon RX 6750 GRE, which is still a China-exclusive. Now, according to Hoang Anh Phu, we're getting a third GRE GPU.

The RX 7650 GRE is expected to bridge the performance gap between the Navi 32 XL-based RX 7700 XT with 54 CUs and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and the RX 7600 XT, which features a fully loaded Navi 33 GPU (32 CUs) and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. It's worth noting that AMD previously released two RX 6750 GRE models with varying specifications and memory configurations (12GB and 10GB). The same could happen with the upcoming RX 7650 GRE.

Expected to be priced somewhere between the two GPUs, the RX 7650 GRE is expected to feature a core count ranging from 54 to 32 CUs and memory configurations varying from 12 GB to 16 GB. While an exclusive launch in China is likely, there is potential for a wider release later, especially considering it's being introduced at CES 2025.
