Alphacool adds Radeon RX 5700 XT waterblocks to its Eisblock Aurora line

Alphacool has launched a series of new Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A GPU water blocks and backplates for AMD 5700 XT graphics cards. The new range covers Radeon RX 5700 XT cards from ASRock and XFX that combine style and performance with extensive digital RGB lighting.

Alphacool’s design target of the new Eisblock Aurora GPU waterblocks is to further increase cooling performance. The first step of development was to move the cooler closer to components, by reducing the thickness of thermal pads by 1mm. Alphacool then went on to reduces the thickness of the copper block too by going from a 7mm to 5.5mm profile, meaning the water flow inside the cooler has been optimised.

The importance of lighting is high in the new Alphacool Eisblock Aurora design, addressable RGB LEDs are directly embedded into the GPU block and run along its entire length to provide illumination of the whole waterblock. To further enhance the lighting effects, the Eisblock Aurora features a more angular design with all edges of the block bevelled to promote better diffusion of lighting.

Alphacool has chosen a nickel-plated copper design for the Eisblock Aurora, with the nickel plating being improved over previous generations to provide better corrosion and acid resistance. Other new features of the Eisblock Aurora include patented stop fittings that sit flush with the surface of the terminal and an illuminated Alphacool logo sitting in the top corner. Alphacool says the new Eisblock Aurora is a complete redevelopment of the previous generation.

The two new designs added to the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A series include compatible water blocks for AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT ASRock Taichi X8 8G OC and XFX THICC II / III graphics cards. Additionally, Alphacool has introduced new backplates for these cards too. The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora backplate GPX-A features the Alphacool Aurora design, stabilises the GPU and helps reduce graphics card sag.

The new products are available to purchase now from the Alphacool online store, with the new Aurora GPU waterblocks priced at €109.94 and the backplates costing €19.94.
