Sapphire RX 7700 XT Pure Frostpunk 2 Edition Review

We use Nvidia PCAT to measure power draw of the graphics card only, with readings from both the PCIe slot and the PCIe power cables combined into a single figure. We use Resident Evil 4 (4K) for this testing.

Interestingly, despite sharing the same 240W TBP rating as the regular Pure model, the Frostpunk 2 Edition drew consistently more power in my testing, hitting over 250W, compared to sub-240W readings for the Pure. This could be down to ASIC quality or several other factors, but it's not a big difference anyway and certainly nothing to be worried about.

Combining the power draw values shown above with the performance data, we present performance per Watt for each graphics card tested:

Naturally that slightly higher-than-expected power draw does have a knock on effect for efficiency. We recorded the Frostpunk 2 losing about 7% efficiency compared to the Pure, but as mentioned above, this is a very minor difference and is unlikely to affect your buying decision.
