Sapphire RX 7700 XT Pure Frostpunk 2 Edition Review

Following on from our stock thermal and acoustic testing, here we re-test the operating temperature of the GPU, but with noise levels normalised to 40dBa. This allows us to measure the efficiency of the overall cooling solution as varying noise levels as a result of more aggressive fan curves are no longer a factor.

Once we normalised noise output to 40dBa, thermal performance of the Frostpunk 2 was again basically identically to the Pure model – it did clock in 1C lower, but that's basically margin for error and is not of any significance. Compared to other 7700 XT models we've tested, the PowerColor Hellhound is comfortably the best in this department, but the Gigabyte Gaming OC is also very similar to the Sapphire Frostpunk card.
