We used MSI Afterburner to overclock the card, adding 85MHz to the GPU core and 950MHz to the memory. This isn't a big manual OC, but remember Palit has already added 180MHz for you versus reference speeds – so we're effectively 265MHz faster than reference now.
Average clock speed under load
The added frequency was enough for the card to break past 2GHz, however, which is always good to see. We did see it peak as high as 2070MHz, but it couldn't sustain that frequency and dropped down, spending most of our testing between 2010-2025MHz.
3DMark and games
This was enough of a frequency boost to shows some decent frame rate improvements in our games, tested at 1440p. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, for instance, saw an increase of 5FPS, as did Ghost Recon: Wildlands. The card also gained another 1000 points in Fire Strike.
