Following on from our stock thermal and acoustic testing, here we re-test the operating temperature of the GPU, but with noise levels normalised to 40dBa. This allows us to measure the efficiency of the overall cooling solution as varying noise levels as a result of more aggressive fan curves are no longer a factor.
After noise-normalising to 40dBa, we see very similar results between all three RTX 4080 Supers tested. The Founders Edition is nominally the worst-performing, but the differences are barely 2C between it and the Gaming OC, so it's only a very minor point.
The Founders Edition memory still runs the hottest, hitting 70C, which is 14C warmer than the Gaming OC, or 4C hotter than the Palit JetStream OC.
