OCUK worldwide exclusive: 8GB Sapphire R9 290X VaporX OC

If you have been following our news feed over the last couple of months, you will have already seen the information we shared on the Sapphire R9 290X VaporX OC in a whopping 8GB configuration.

We have been receiving a lot of emails asking when Sapphire were due to release the solution however no dates were forthcoming. We just heard that Overclockers UK have a very limited stock of this monster 8GB card, which is retailing for £599.99 inc vat. If you want a future proofed solution to play the latest Direct X 11 games across three screens or on a new Ultra HD 4K panel then it seems a good choice.

OCUK say on their page “OcUK has a worldwide exclusive on the only 8GB 290X in existence, but this is not any 290X it's a highly fine tuned machine being the Vapor-X edition with near silent cooling solution. Running with a 1060MHz core clock and with memory clocked at 5600MHz makes this card absolutely perfect for a 4K setup, even more so with a pair or three of these in Crossfire. That means you could play games like Skyrim with expansion packs at 4k resolution and still not run out of VRAM.”
