Leo Says 77 – Intel ‘fesses up about Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200S

The launch of the new Intel Core Ultra 200S family of CPUs along with Z890 motherboards was a thorny process. KitGuru suffered along with pretty much every other review site on the planet and you may have noticed we held off from reviewing of the Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K and Core Ultra 5 245K as it is clear to us that Intel has some work to do before this platform is ready for action.

KitGuru's launch coverage of Intel Core Ultra 200S developed into a workshop where we showed you how you overcome a series of problems as you install Windows 11 on this new PC platform. That was unexpected as installing Windows is generally the easy part of the process but sadly things went off the rails and we figured the best thing was to share our pain with you, our audience.

Core Ultra 200S is a dramatic departure from 14th Gen Raptor Lake and we fully expected that Core Ultra 9 285K would match the performance of Core i9 14900K while using significantly less power. Instead we saw a dip in gaming performance and the entire community of reviewers was left baffled. It turns out Intel was been confused and had been carrying out a great deal of analysis.

Robert Hallock, VP and General Manager, Client AI and Technical Marketing at Intel joined Hot Hardware for a discussion about these problems and what Intel is doing to fix the situation.

KitGuru says: It is clear that Intel is looking for the light at the end of the tunnel with Arrow Lake. Just as soon as things are fixed you can be sure we will deliver reviews of the CPUs and also of Z890 motherboards.
