MSI may have revealed Intel’s Alder Lake-S launch date

Like several other cooler makers, MSI will also be offering a free upgrade kit so that users can continue to use their current CPU cooler on the upcoming Intel LGA 1700 socket. The new socket will launch on new motherboards alongside Intel's upcoming Alder Lake-S desktop processors, which may be arriving on the 4th of November.

While promoting the free mounting upgrade kit, MSI made it clear that the hardware would not be available until the 4th of November. It is believed that this is the day that the sales and review embargos for Alder Lake-S and 600-series motherboards will lift.

Intel is due to hold an event on the 27th of October, during which we expect to see the full line-up of Alder Lake-S processors officially announced, followed by availability and reviews a week later. MSI's mounting kit promotion seems to confirm the November 4th launch date.

The first wave of processors should include the Core i9-12900K, Core i7-12700K and the Core i5-12600K, in addition to “B” and “H” 600-series motherboards. We're also expecting to see an influx of high-end Z690 motherboards, but the launch window for these is still unclear.
