Maxsun leak reveals AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU specs

New details on the upcoming AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor have leaked. The information comes from MaxSun's support pages, confirming several key specs. Firstly, the initial rollout of the 3D V-Cache lineup appears to revolve solely around the 9800X3D, with no mention of the 9950X3D or 9900X3D in the mix.

While the motherboard manufacturer (via VideoCardz) refers to the upcoming CPU as “Ryzen 9 9800X3D,” evidence suggests this is a Ryzen 7 CPU. The listing shows 9800X3D has a TDP of 120 W and 96 MB of cache, including 32 MB of L3 cache and 64 MB of 3D V-Cache. This confirms that the cache size has not been altered from previous models.

Another interesting bit of information shown in the table is the base clock speed of the upcoming CPU. Reportedly set at 4.7 GHz, it's 900 MHz faster than the 9700X. Given that the 9700X carries a TDP of 65W, the higher base clock of the 9800X3D can likely be attributed to its higher TDP. Interestingly, the 9800X3D is also expected to deliver a boost clock of 5.2 GHz across all cores, 300 MHz slower than the 9700X. Unfortunately, the single-core boost clock speed isn't known yet, but many believe it will be around 5.4/5.5 GHz.

The timing of the release of this information hints at the rumoured announcement of the same CPU, which is now expected to be unveiled on October 25th. However, the actual release should only occur in early November.
