Intel Xeon W7-2495X spotted in benchmark

The new Intel Xeon processors are expected to be announced in just a few days, but we're already starting to see at least one of these upcoming processors in benchmark databases. Recently, Geekbench was updated with a benchmark entry for the Xeon W7-2495X.

The Geekbench entry found by Benchleaks shows the upcoming Intel Xeon processor was running on a Lenovo PC (codenamed 30G9CTO1WW) with 128GB of memory running Windows 10 Pro. The entry also shares some of the processor specs, listing the 24C/48T CPU as having a base clock of 2.5GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.6GHz, which doesn't match the 4.8GHz boost clock speed we saw in previous leaks.

In the single-core test, this processor scored 1,497 points, which is roughly on par with the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5965WX, AMD's most recent HEDT chip with 24 cores. On the other hand, in the multi-core test, the Xeon chip is considerably faster than AMD's equivalent, beating the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5965WX by 13% (24,658 vs 21,746).

Intel Xeon W-2400 series CPUs are expected to be announced on February 15th, with availability set for sometime in March.
