Intel H610/Q670 motherboards will support Raptor Lake and up to DDR5-5200 memory

MiTAC, a motherboard manufacturer, may have just confirmed some rumours regarding Raptor Lake-S. As per the spec sheet of one of its motherboards, the 600-series will support Raptor Lake chips with DDR5-5200 memory.

The MiTAC PH12ADI Mini-ITX industrial motherboard's spec sheet spotted by @momomo_us reveals what we've been hearing for a long time. However, note that the motherboard only supports non-EEC SO-DIMM memory. Still, this should also apply to DIMM memory, bringing a considerable upgrade over the DDR5-4800 specification supported by Alder Lake processors.

Considering that H610/Q670 motherboards will support DDR5-5200 memory when paired with a Raptor Lake CPU, we can only assume the same will be the case for the Z790, H770, and B760 motherboards. However, expect to see higher-frequency memory being supported in future generations.

Intel Raptor Lake desktop processors and 700-series motherboards should release before the end of this year.

KitGuru says: The upcoming fight between the Intel Raptor Lake platform and AMD's ‘Raphael' Ryzen 7000 series will surely be interesting. Both will support DDR5 memory, but while Raptor Lake has a baseline of 5200MHz, rumours claim AMD's upcoming chips will run DDR5 modules natively at 5600MHz.
