Intel Core i5-13400 performs on par with the Core i9-11900K in the multi-core CPU-Z test

Intel is expected to introduce a new batch of 13th Gen Core CPUs in early 2023. These are rumoured to be non-K chips, which should include the Core i5-13400. Thanks to some leaks, we already know most of the specs of this processor, but benchmark results are always better for estimating performance. Fortunately, the CPU-Z scores of this chip have just been posted online.

The generation's xx400 SKUs are pretty popular among PC gamers due to their incredible price/performance ratio. Looking at the CPU-Z score shared by HXL, that won't change with the Core i5-13400 CPUs. The CPU-Z screenshot shows the chip has six P-cores that can clock up to 4.6GHz and four E-cores. In total, it comes with 9.5MB of L2 cache and 20MB of L3 cache. Lastly, the TDP is set at 65W.

In the images shared, we see the Core i5 chip scoring 729.3 points in the single-core test, putting it between its predecessor and the new Ryzen 5 7600X. In the multi-core benchmark, with 6591.5 points, the CPU performs similarly to the 11th Gen Core flagship, the Core i9-11900K. Compared to the Core i5-12400, it scores about 30% higher.

Intel should introduce the Core i5-13400 alongside the rest of the non-K and T chips during CES 2023.
