First Raptor Lake H listings show 5.3GHz boost speeds for laptops

Intel Raptor Lake desktop chips have just been officially announced, but the mobile counterparts have yet to be shown to the public. That, however, doesn't mean that other parties don't have access to them, as you can see by the first Geekbench entries of the upcoming 13th Gen Core mobile chips.

The Geekbench entries found by VideoCardz only show the Intel Core i7-13700H and the Core i9-13900HK running on a Samsung NP960XFH (presumably a Galaxy Book3 Ultra laptops. Both entries seem to have a typo on the name, as they show ‘CoreT' instead of the expected ‘Core™'.

Reading the CPU details on both entries, we see that each processor is shown with 1.25MB of L2 cache per core, whereas Raptor Lake chips should have 2MB. This could mean that Raptor Lake mobile chips will use Alder Lake silicon, which is something that is also rumoured to be the case for non-K desktop chips too.

Both entries suggest the upcoming mobile processors will feature 14 cores (6+8) and 20 threads, but the Core i9-13900HK should boost higher, going up to 5.3GHz. As for the Core i7-13700H, it seems the CPU will cap at 5.0GHz. Score-wise, the two chips' single- and multi-core scores are slightly below what we see from their 12th Gen Core counterparts. Still, note that these are the first and only scores of these chips on Geekbench, so don't take them too seriously.

Intel confirmed it would launch the 13th Gen Core mobile chips by the end of the year, so it won't be long until we start to see more of these processors in action.

KitGuru says: Intel's new Raptor Lake chips are not expected to bring any noticeable new feature over Alder Lake. Still, the higher clock speeds should be enough to increase performance.
