Early AMD Ryzen 9000X3D benchmark shows promising results

A new leak has emerged regarding the Ryzen 9000X3D series, shedding light on their potential performance. The Cinebench R23 single- and multi-core scores of the 8-core and 16-core Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs have appeared online, showing double-digit performance gains in this benchmark.

The source behind this latest leak is CodeCommando (via VideoCardz), the same leaker who had previously unveiled Ryzen 9000 slides ahead of AMD's official announcement. While the accuracy of the previous slides lends credibility, this still is just a value posted on social media without any concrete proof that these CPUs were tested on CB R23.

Given that the X3D series' focus is gaming, the Cinebench R23 might not be the best tool to show its strengths. Still, it shows how it'll compare to the other Ryzen 9000 series in performance without taking the 3D V-Cache into account. According to the latest findings, the performance improvements over the previous generation appear to be double-digit in both single- and multi-core.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D exhibits a 12% improvement in single-core and a 17% uplift in multi-core performance compared to the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. As for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, it showcases a 19% increase in single-core and a remarkable 32% boost in multi-core performance compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

Moreover, the data also suggests that both X3D models are poised to outperform their non-X3D counterparts in multi-core performance but lag behind in the single-core test, possibly due to boosting to a lower clock speed than the standard Ryzen 9000 series. The 9800X3D's considerably superior multi-core performance over the 9700X can likely be attributed to a higher TDP, which has yet to be formally disclosed (120W or 105W, most likely).
