AMD Ryzen AI 300 reportedly coming mid-July, Ryzen 9000 in late July

AMD's upcoming Ryzen CPUs might be closer to release than some expect. While specific availability dates have yet to be confirmed, various retailers have started listing the new products, hinting at launches in mid-July for laptop chips and late July for the desktop.

According to B&H listings (via Wccftech), the Ryzen 9000 series is expected to be available for pre-order on July 31st, aligning with AMD's pledge of a July release. Unfortunately, pricing in the US is still unknown, but a Canada Computers listing puts the Ryzen 9 9950X launch price at $839 (CAD)/£480, about $100 less than the Ryzen 9 7950X.

Moving on to the laptop processors, BestBuy recently announced a revised release date for an Asus laptop featuring the Ryzen AI 9 365 for $1400, which will be available on July 15th as per the listing. If accurate, the Strix Point chips will be the first Zen 5 chips to be released, followed soon after by the Ryzen 9000 series for desktops.

It is clear, however, that AMD Zen 5 will be released before Intel's next-generation Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake processors, which are due in Q3 2024 for the former and Q4 2024 for the latter.
