A leaker has recently shared what may well be the first Cinebench R20 results for the Ryzen 7 7700X. As expected, the upcoming CPU was considerably faster than its predecessors, scoring 20% higher than the Ryzen 5000 series flagship in the single-core test.

The CB R20 results shared by Extreme Player (via VideoCardz) show the 8C/16T processor running at 4.5GHz, matching previous reports. These same reports stated the processors would boost up to 5.4GHz. According to the screenshot, the chip scored 773 points in the single-core test and 7,701 points in the multi-core test.

Comparing these scores with the Ryzen 7 5800X, and we see the new 7700X outscoring its predecessor by 20% in single-core and multi-core. The Ryzen 7 7700X also beats the Ryzen 9 5950X in single-core, but loses out in the multicore benchmark.

AMD has scheduled an event for August 29th, during which we'll see the new Ryzen processors announced. According to rumours, these CPUs will become available to purchase in late September.

KitGuru says: The CB R20 results seem promising, but they're not the ceiling of what the Ryzen 7000 series can do. On top of the Ryzen 7 7700X, there should still be Ryzen 9 7900X and 7950X chips, which should offer decent multi-core gains.
