AMD A10-6800K (Richland) APU Review

3DMark is Futuremark’s latest benchmark. It can be used to benchmark and compare everything from mobile devices, such as smart phones, tablets and laptops, to high-end gaming systems. The benchmark is available for Windows, Windows RT Android and iOS.

With 3 separate tests, each of which is intended to be used alongside a specific classification of hardware, 3DMark is a very versatile benchmark. Ice Storm is intended to be used with mobile devices, Cloud Gate is good for use with laptops and home PCs, and Fire Strike can be used to push the performance of gaming PCs.

We used the ‘Fire Strike’ benchmark which is designed to be used on gaming PCs. We opted for the Normal setting, NOT the Extreme mode.

These results are fairly weak compared to systems with dedicated GPUs but are impressive considering the integrated nature of the graphics on both processors.

Senior Intel Engineer Explains the Radical Shift in CPU Design

When Intel launched Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 200V) in 2024 we gave you the technical details and followed up with a review of the Asus Zenbook S 14 which has incredible battery life. In the following month we discussed Intel Arrow Lake (Core Ultra 200S) and how we considered it was unfit for review in a situation that was not resolved until February 2025. On the one hand we have Lunar Lake which we like, while on the other hand we have Arrow Lake which is troubled, yet both families of processors run on Lion Cove P-cores and Skymont E-cores and have a huge amount in common.

  1. They are good value for what you get. add in a HD7870 and you also have a cheap, powerful gaming rig at 1080p

  2. Great for media center, no need for a discrete card.

This was really useful to me, I have an older A8 and wanted to sell it, and put £70 towards a new gen model. It looks to be worth the move, especially for HD gaming.

  4. AMD rule in the low end, I just wish they could get something out at £300 to kick intels ass.

  5. The Gaming FPS tests have me confused. Are those the results with or without the dual graphics??? Or is it with the discrete graphics solution? I would like to see the performance with dual graphics.

  6. is the a10-6800k good for video editing and 3d rendering also? just struggling to find a good amd processor. thank you.
