MSI MAG CoreLiquid I360 AIO CPU Cooler Review

Rating: 8.5.

MSI’s latest AIO CPU cooler is available in black or white, with 240mm and 360mm radiator sizes, ARGB illuminated fans and an infinity mirror RGB pump cover. But the main feature of the MAG CoreLiquid I-series is the universal mounting system that uses a single upper mounting bracket for both Intel and AMD platforms, something that is said to make it one of the quickest AIOs to install and easy for the novice DIY PC builder. But is it any good? Let’s find out.

 MSI MAG CoreLiquid I360 Features:

  • CoreLiquid I360 pump cover design draws inspiration from the angular cuts of diamonds with multiple angles and a dual-sided infinity mirror illuminated with ARGB Gen2 lighting to enhance the visual appearance.
  • The pre-installed UNI bracket supports installation on both Intel and AMD sockets, while the intuitive accessories pack separates the hardware for installation on AMD or Intel platforms, with a QR code providing a direct link to the installation guide.
  • A CPU block-mounted pump and precision-engineered motor reduces overall vibration and produces smooth water flow to enhance cooling efficiency and low noise output.
  • MAG CoreLiquid I360 fans are equipped with Loop Dynamic Bearings which reduce friction and wear for an extended lifespan and lower noise levels, while the copper micro-channel cold plate is manufactured using ultra-precision automation to produce 0.1mm cooling fins.
  • The cooler also features EPDM tubing covered with nylon-braided sleeving to reduce evaporation and provide excellent flexibility for installation.

MSI ships the CoreLiquid I360 in a cardboard box with a large image of the cooler on the front, on the rear of the box the cooler's features and dimensions are listed. Inside the box, the cooler and associated hardware are neatly contained within a cardboard crate in plastic bags with some additional foam for protection.

The included fans have a speed range of 500 – 2200RPM with an opaque blade design mounted on a black plastic frame, with anti-vibration pads on all four mounting points and short proprietary cable to pass through power, PWM signal and ARGB lighting control.

Fans come pre-installed to the radiator from the factory which saves time during installation. The cables are daisy-chined and neatly managed along the side of the fans. MSI also includes a black plastic clip on trim panel which covers the wiring/side of the fans when attached.

The radiator is a standard 27mm thick unit manufactured from Aluminium with a dense fin pitch. At the radiator side the tubing is fixed in position so there's no rotation or angle adjustment. The radiator's black coating has an even appearance and a slightly textured feel to it which looks high quality.

The CPU block/pump unit is equipped with a plastic cover and triangular-shaped infinity mirror section with an MSI logo. The tubing enters the CPU block via 90° rotary fittings, at the base of the block is a copper micro-channel cold plate and a universal mounting bracket for both Intel and AMD sockets attached.

Wiring connections from the fans are standard 4-pin PWM and 3-pin 5V ARGB motherboard headers. It’s the same for the wiring from the pump but there is also a male ARGB splitter to connect the fan ARGB cable then both can be connected to the motherboard header.

When powered up the fans and pump cover are illuminated with ARGB lighting. The lighting effects on the fans are bright and quite vibrant, but more subtle on the infinity mirror CPU block. The fan lighting is diffused well and there is minimal light bleed from the LEDs through the fan blades.

Included with the cooler is an installation accessories pack with all parts neatly organised and labelled, as well as a plastic cover plate for the fans and an EU regulatory notices booklet. The manual is digital, and the QR code that links to the manual is printed on the accessories pack.
