Aerocool Touch 2100 Touch Screen Fan Controller Review

Overall we are impressed with what the Aerocool Touch 2100 has to offer. It makes it very easy indeed to monitor the temperature in various different areas of your chassis while adjusting the fan speeds independently to achieve the best compromise between cooling and acoustic performance.

Our only minor issue with the fan controller is the poor viewing angles of the inbuilt LCD display.  This could well be an issue for those users who have their tower on the desk next to their monitor as it cannot be clearly viewed from below.  When looking on the screen from above, however, the readouts are very clear indeed.

At a price of £45 inc. VAT from Box.co.uk we feel that the Aerocool Touch 2100 fan controller is a little expensive. It functions in a very similar manner to all other fan controllers on the market, many of which are able to handle more channels.  That said, there aren't many fan controllers out there which have the wow-factor of the Touch 2100 which integrates a colour-coordinated LCD touch screen into the front of the system.

Pros:

  • Attractive design.
  • Brushed aluminium bezel.
  • Inbuilt thermal probes.

Cons:

  • Expensive.
  • LCD doesn't have great viewing angles.

KitGuru says: Another impressive fan controller form Aerocool which will certainly add some wow-factor to your system.

  1. THe 2000 looks much nicer imo. no?

  2. Its a nice gadget but I have to say, its one of those PC gadgets i think is a complete waste of cash.

  3. I have one of these, picked it up open-box for $20 at fry’s, I love it. During boot-up, the fans pump 100% until the firmware kicks in and takes over. Also, first time I plugged it in my system read it fine. After a formatting, it’s showing up in device manager as “universal serial bus [usb] controller” with the yellow triangle icon. This has become frustrating.

Find it on sale, used, or open box, but I wouldn’t have spent $60 on it, had enough trouble spending $20 on anything that’s kinda gimmicky.

  4. What bothers me is that the brush of the aluminum is horizontally, whilst most of the PC housings made by corsair are brushed vertically, does anyone have a combination of this fan controller and a corsair housing?
