Xigmatek MidGard II Case Review

There is no doubt that the Xigmatek MidGard II Mid Tower is a very capable case design. The MidGard II has a full feature set that includes USB 3.0, a fan controller and room for up to eight fans if loaded to full capacity.

For the water cooling crowd there is room for a radiator up to 280mm long and 50mm high, including the fans.  People can also fit either 6 x 2.5″ SSD drives or 6 standard 3.5″ drives into the two removable drive cages, which should meet most requirements.

The top panel is home to our favorite feature, the  2.5/3.5″ SATA Docking Station. This docking station can house a single SSD or SATA hard drive with quick, easy access.

The design of the MidGard II is understated and free from gaudy lighting and unusually shaped panels. Xigmatek have opted for straight, clean lines and the top and front panels feature their special “leather-like” surface coating to help eliminate finger prints. At the modest price point, it certainly makes for a good purchasing decision.

Pros:

  • Clean design.
  • Special “Leather-like” surface treatment.
  • radiator up to 280mm long and 50mm high.
  • Good cable management options.
  • Plenty of cooling options to choose from.
  • Removable dust filters.

Cons:

  • dust filters could be improved.
  • only 2 fans included.

The Midgard II retails in the UK for £58.99 from Aria. At this price we have no hesitation recommending the case.
