Try out Fractal’s cases before you buy in augmented reality

Augmented reality is a technology that doesn't get enough of a mention in the press, despite the fact that it's cool as all hell – just look at these Mario AR cards. Fortunately, some companies are already looking to take advantage of the technology, with Fractal Designs offering to show you what its cases are like, before you've even bought one.

Really: just have a look at the latter parts of this video: [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqEQ70q8Yc0′]

You'll need to download the Fractal app (iOs and Android versions are available) and print off the design trigger so that your tablet or phone can pick up where you want the case to go and voila, you're looking at a Fractal case on your real world desk.

It's not too difficult to set up and would certainly make for an easy way to test out whether the case would fit in a tight location, or whether it would match any other electronics you have lying around.

The app is currently compatible with all Android devices and Apple iPads. iPhone support is coming soon.

KitGuru Says: This is some next-gen stuff right here guys. Give it some time, and we'll be interacting with these models with our hands, really trying out products before we buy the design and print them out using our own 3D printeers. Mark my words, this sort of thing is the future.
