Montech announces new Air X ARGB midtower chassis

Montech is expanding its Air series of cases with the new Air X ARGB ATX chassis, available in both black and white colour options. This new case is designed with airflow at its core, offering a ‘Diamond Mesh' front panel with two large front fans to pull air through the case.

Besides the 2x 200mm ARGB fans at the front, there's also a 120mm ARGB fan at the rear of the case. It's possible to install up to 3x 120/140mm fans or 2x 200m fans in the front of the case, while the rear can only house a single 120mm fan, and the top supports up to 2x 120/140mm fans. The front panel can take a 120/140/240/280/360mm radiator, the rear supports a 120mm radiator, and on the top you can mount a 120/140/240/280mm radiator.

The RGB LEDs can be customised and controlled through ARGB compatible motherboards. If the motherboard isn't ARGB compatible, there's an ARGB fan controller included to cover this. According to TechPowerUp, this controller contains both 4 pin fan connector and 3 pin ARGB connector, and it's capable of controlling up to 6 sets of fans or 6 ARGB devices using 3 pin connectors, and 6 fans using 4 pin connectors. The three included fans come pre-connected to the ARGB fan controller.

The front panel uses a ‘Diamond Mesh' for better airflow, and a fine mesh screen to prevent dust from getting in. There are also dust filters equipped in the top and bottom to further prevent dust getting inside the case. The tempered glass side panel is removed using a sliding mechanism, meaning there was no need to drill holes into the panel, creating a sturdier glass structure. There are also multiple loops and cable ties available, and a “large back panel clearance” to ease the cable management.

Measuring 425x210x458mm (LxWxH), this case supports an E-ATX, ATX, Micro ATX, or Mini-ITX motherboard. There are 7 expansion slots, 4x 2.5-inch drive bays, and 2x 3.5-inch drive bays. GPUs are supported up to 340mm in length, while CPU coolers are supported up to 163mm tall. The I/O consists of 1x USB 2.0, 2x USB3.0, 1x 3.5mm Audio jack, and 1x 3.5mm Mic jack.

Montech Air X ARGB will be available in April 2020, with the white version costing $72.99, and the black version costing $69.99.
