NZXT Source 210 Elite Case Review

As we would expect at this price point, the Source 210 is constructed primarily from SECC Steel.  The steel used is a little thin for our liking but again, this isn't surprising considering the price of the case.  The front panel of the case is formed from black plastic which seems to be reasonably good quality.

At the top we find the small selection of front panel connections.  There are two USB ports in total, one USB3.0 and one USB2.0.  On the non-Elite version of the case these are both USB2.0 ports.  There are also headphone and microphone jacks located here.

Below the front panel connections we find the three 5.25″ drive bays with the power and reset buttons underneath.  The centre section of the front panel has a floating design so that air can be sucked into the front of the case around the edges.  Unfortunately there isn't a front intake fan included with the case which means that airflow isn't going to be ideal.  There is room for two 120mm units in the front if you want to add them yourself, though.

Unlike most cases in this price sector, the Source 210 actually has room for two fans in the roof.  There are mounting points for both 120mm and 140mm fans and there is a single 140mm fan included with the Elite version of the case.  These fan mountings don't seem to be positioned correctly for use with a 240mm radiator but we can't imagine that anyone would want to build a water cooled setup in a budget case like this anyway.

Moving around to the back of the case we find the 120mm exhaust fan accompanied by seven expansion card slots.  Unlike a lot of budget cases we've looked at, these feature replaceable covers.  The PSU mountings are located at the bottom of the case.

  1. I would think this would be selling well to system builders.

  2. I bought this for my kid brother for his birthday and its actually quite good. I did replace the fan however as it is very loud and nasty. got a cheapish akasa one for £5.

  3. Seems alright fo the money

  4. Its hard to get excited about a case in this price sector, but its a decent job all round, shame about the fans, but they are bound to get dropped to low grade to meet the price point.
