BitFenix Shadow Tower Case Review (Midnight Black)

Given the budget nature of the BitFenix Comade chassis, we built our test rig around an AMD 6800K APU, with the following specification:-

Hardware

  • Processor: AMD 6800K APU
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte G1 Sniper A88X
  • Cooler: AMD Stock
  • Memory: 8GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz
  • Graphics Card: MSI Radeon R7 250
  • Power Supply: Seasonic S12II-620
  • System Drive: 1TB Seagate

Software

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
  • Benchmark Software: CPUID Harwdare Monitor, Prime95, 3DMark

We tested the thermal performance of the BitFenix Shadow chassis under load using Prime95 and 3DMark – recording the maximum temperatures reached.

After the benchmarks completed, we then left the system for 15 minutes and checked for idle temperatures.

The ambient room temperature was 20 degrees during testing.

Thermal performance is decent and the overall quality of the construction means that there is very little noise leakage.

  1. Don’t trust Bitfenix. I have their case. Somehow they manage to give one case to review, but sell completely different case under same name. Many people got cought like that. Even images on the packing box is correct (like in review), the images in manual are good, but the actual case is different. Much poorer quality. Read buyers review of Bitfenix, they have something to say about this company. That’s live-one-day manufacturer.

  2. Soft touch surface treatment? – hope that’s been improved from the days when it ALWAYS ends up going to a horrible sticky mess

  3. Johnatan, maybe you have had a bit of bad luck ! don’t understand Why You Slag of Bitfenix ! on the grounds that your not happy with your case alone ? maybe have or show a little proof before diving in next time !
Ive used Bitfenix Cases now on quite a fue builds and i find them top cases ! really easy to use and even easier to modify , plus reasonable prices ! maybe you should of contacted who ever you bought your case from and try resolving your problem ?
