Aerocool Strike-X open chassis – revisited

Tis the season for a new system upgrade! What better way to end the year than to treat yourself to some new hardware? Bored of the ‘same old' chassis? Then how about an open case with easy access at all times? We reviewed the Aerocool Strike-X case back in March 2013 (link) and it scored well in our lab tests. We feel it deserves another look before the holidays – especially if you want something different for your next system build.

We know what you're thinking: What about dust?! The thing is that if you are constantly swapping components in and out – and you have a handy little vacuum cleaner and a tin of spray air, then that's not likely to cause an issue. Let us know what you think.

KitGuru says: Most open cases have followed a fairly standard thought process – metal benches that can be fitted into a production area for baseline testing. The Strike-X offers quite a bit more, but you would have to have a specific requirement to buy one. That said, around £80 is not a lot of money for all that flexibility.
