Skype and Facebook exploring possibilities of partnership

Social networking giant Facebook are exploring the possibilities of a partnership with Skype which is aimed at integrating their communication services.

Wall Street Journal have said that under the proposed partnership that Facebook users would be able to sign into Skype through their Facebook Connect accounts. Once signed in then users would be able to send text messages and voice and video chat with their Facebook friends from within Skype.

These functions are integrated into Skype 5.0 which is expected to be released in the next few weeks and enabling Skype's voice and video chat on Facebook would be a logical progression for the partnership, according to the paper.

Facebook and Skype have neither confirmed or denied this business plan.
