Nokia confirm Tablet PC is coming

Many people will be pleased to hear that Nokia will be entering into the tablet wars, a sector currently dominated by Apple's iPad. Nokia chief design guru Marko Ahtisaari is spending a lot of his time creating the new tablet for Nokia which they want to stand out in a crowded marketplace.

He spoke with Finnish magazine Kauppalehti Optio and said “We are working on it”.

Nokia chief Stephen Elop wants the company to enter into this sector but has said that they need to do something different to stand out. Very few companies have been able to take marketshare from Apple at this point.

A company spokesman said “We continue to eye the tablet space with interest, but have made no specific announcements.”

Nokia have partnered up with Microsoft so it is likely they will be using Windows 8 as the operating system of choice for the upcoming tablet.
