Gates claims Zuckerberg is engaged

Bill Gates was interviewed recently by the Daily Mail and he let a interesting tidbit of information slip. His friend Mark Zuckerberg has gotten engaged to his long term girlfriend Priscilla Chan.

Gates may have revealed his friends secret by referring to Chan as Zuckerberg's ‘fiancee'.

Gates and Zuckerberg have built up a friendship over the years, as I guess only billionaires can do. After all, the other person won't be after your hard earned cash. Gates said to the Daily Mail ‘I didn't say to Mark, “Give me all your money!'

‘His fiancée Priscilla thought about education and he gave money to Newark, New Jersey, and we did a co-grant so that some of our people who had some expertise in that field could help him out.'

Gates could have said fiancee instead of girlfriend, but the news is hot right now as they have been dating since 2003. Perhaps Zuckerberg wants to settle down and start a family. They did adopt a puppy named ‘Beast' earlier this year and they posed for pictures with the press. His Facebook page seems to have the reference to his relationship status completely removed, we aren't sure when this was made or for what reason. Zuckerberg has upped his privacy settings however by no longer allowing photos he has been tagged in to appear along the top of his public profile.

Facebook's head of communications however has a different take on the story. He says that Gates is mistaken “If Mark is engaged, Bill Gates knows something I don't know. Gates's communications guy just wrote to apologise for the misunderstanding.'

Zuckerberg may be young, but his wealth is high at $13.5 billion (£8.3 billion), making him the 52nd richest person in the world according to Forbes magazine.

KitGuru says: He is the second youngest billionare in the world, behind Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz.
