SCAN launches RTX 50 stock tracker for customers

The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards officially launched last week but eager buyers were disappointed to find that the majority of stock had sold out and that prices were already on the rise. To make the buying process simpler, SCAN has launched its RTX 50 tracking page, promising transparent updates on stock, timings and even pricing changes.

If you are planning on ordering an RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 graphics card, SCAN offers the most painless and hassle-free experience at this time. The Bolton-based retailer has set up a queueing system, so you can place your order, get your place in the queue for stock and then you'll be able to check back in for frequent updates on stock availability and pricing changes.

As these graphics cards are bought in USD, the value of the Great British Pound versus the US Dollar will impact pricing. To help customers buy with confidence that they'll be getting the best available price and not a marked-up product, SCAN has displayed the exchange rate value on the RTX 50 tracking page, right alongside daily updates on stock.

If you place an order but are stuck in the queue due to demand, the price of your order may fluctuate based on the exchange rate. Those who ordered on January 30th will have seen prices based on an exchange rate of £1 to $1.24. Since then, the exchange rate has adjusted, equalling £1 to $1.25. Prices will rise and fall based on this figure, offering fairness both ways. Like the daily stock updates, Scan will frequently update the exchange rate with the latest information.

If the price of an RTX 50 graphics card fluctuates in the time between placing your order and stock arrival, you will be offered the opportunity to pay the difference without losing your place in the queue or get a refund on your order.

Demand for RTX 50 GPUs is high and the supply chain is already struggling to keep up. Another UK retailer estimated up to 16 weeks for new RTX 5090 stock. SCAN has maintained open orders with suppliers like Asus, Palit, Zotac, PNY and Gigabyte to try and maintain a consistent flow of product to the store.  Any excess stock will be used to help clear pre-order queues.

If you are in the market for an RTX 50 series graphics card and you want a painless purchasing experience, then SCAN is likely the best place to buy in the UK currently thanks to their commitment to handling order queues fairly and transparently. You can find their RTX 50 stock tracking page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Did any of you manage to get an order in for an RTX 50 graphics card before the stock dried up? Which retailer did you go with for your purchase?
