Lenovo is planning a next-gen Legion Go gaming handheld

The Lenovo Legion Go handheld has been on the market for a little while now. We're already starting to hear about potential future versions of the ROG Ally and MSI Claw, so it should come as no surprise that Lenovo is also considering a newer version of its handheld as well.

Lenovo's Clifford Chong recently spoke on a video, stating that the team is still working on a new wave of features for the current Legion Go, while also looking ahead towards a next generation product.

Here's the relevant quote, as transcribed by Insider Gaming:

“We are still spending a lot of resources improving on current Legion Go, over the span of the last six months since launch … And there are still engineering efforts to try to bring the next wave of features to the product. So definitely it’s a category that we do see potential in, and we continue to invest, and we are looking towards, when the time comes, having a next generation to provide even more, better features.”

The Lenovo Legion Go first landed in October 2023 and while it has been praised for its large display, there are some kinks that need ironing out. No doubt a Gen 2 product would include more refined software experience, although this partially hinges on Microsoft, as Windows isn't very handheld-friendly right now. Fortunately, this is an area Microsoft is working on, in collaboration with gaming handheld makers like Lenovo.
