Computex 2024: TAITRA Opening Conference

Computex 2024 has officially kicked off and as is the case every year, the first thing we checked off on our list was the TAITRA opening press conference. This year's Computex is even bigger than 2023, attracting over 50,000 visitors, with 4,500 individual booths, up from 3,000 the previous year.

Computex 2024 will open tomorrow, June 4, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 and 2. It will gather 1,500 exhibitors from around the world, using 4,500 booths. The organizers expect to attract 50,000 overseas and local visitors, TAITRA confirmed in its opening press conference today.

As anticipated, this year's event is largely focused on AI and its growing list of applications across multiple industries. AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, kicked off the event with a keynote, during which the company announced its new Ryzen AI 300 series CPUs for laptops, as well as the first Zen 5 desktop chips, launching as part of the Ryzen 9000 series.

During the opening press conference, TAITRA Chairman, James C.F. Huang, said: “Computing power is the most important key in the AI era. Taiwan has a complete AI ecosystem and rich talent resources, attracting customers from around the world to find ideal partners. COMPUTEX is committed to computing innovations, giving people unprecedented possibilities.”

Other companies, like MediaTek, Intel, Supermicro, NXP Semiconductors, Delta Research and others will all be giving talks during Computex this year, with a keen focus on AI and the latest developments in this space.
