85 inch Samsung S9 UHD TV available at Selfridges for £35k

Is a 1080p television just not good enough for you? Then take your credit card and wallet, (and perhaps a kidney) to Selfridges to get hold of the new Samsung S9 UHD TV. The asking price? A cool £34,999.99 inc vat.

It will be sold in their flagship Oxford Street store and in the Birmingham branch soon, so if you live in the United Kingdom time to take that journey to get a hands on with the new 4k panel.

Selfridges sent an email this morning to say “Breaking new boundaries in UHD picture quality, the worlds first Future Ready UHD TV2 is truly a work of art, and now available to buy. Representing the brightest and clearest images, the S9 delivers four times the detail of Full HD TVs, providing an unreal experience that is truly immersive. Samsung's largest TV will be showcased in one of Selfridges iconic Oxford Street windows and also in-situ within store.

When it comes to performance, customers will also benefit from Samsung's unique Smart Evolution technology, to meet the demands of current and future 4K (UHD) technology. Smart Evolution completely reengineers your TV and enables you to renew your TV to the latest technology in terms of performance, content and features, whilst ensuring it remains cutting edge alongside the timeless design.

Richard Jones, Selfridges Technology Buying Manager said “We are very excited to launch Samsung's 85 inch S9 Ultra High Definition LED TV exclusively in our stores. This is the worlds first Future ready UHD TV, the quality and definition breaks new boundaries in the world of HD TV. Our customers expect the latest and finest technology for their homes and personal use. We hope to pioneer the way forward in the latest releases and Samsung is exactly this. Im sure it will be a huge success'.

Imagine, if they sell 14 of these screens, they will take in around half a million pounds. Tasty.

Kitguru says: Ditch your own 1080p screen, sell a few organs and get on your way to Selfridges. In a few years time, the price will probably be closer to £5,000. But such is the price of early adoption.
