Many CPU cooler manufacturers announced they will give out LGA1700 mounting kits for free if you own an Intel Alder Lake CPU and a selected cooler. This is usually a good idea, as it allows PC builders to reuse their current CPU cooler, rather than being forced to buy a new one. However, early reports seem to point to cooling issues when bringing older AIO coolers to the LGA1700 platform.

GeForce Now is about to get its biggest upgrade to date, bringing the power of the RTX 3080 graphics card to the cloud gaming platform. A new subscription tier is also being introduced alongside this hardware upgrade.

Since launching the Apple M1 processor last year, many rumours have surfaced about what's next. While we expected an upgraded 'M1X' chip at some point later this year, it turns out Apple was actually working on two new SoCs - the M1 Pro and the M1 Max, bringing up to a 70 percent boost in CPU performance. 

Over the last few years, From Software has been working on its most ambitious game to date - Elden Ring. Earlier this year, the game was announced with a January 2022 release date, but the developers have since realised they need a bit more time, so a small delay has been announced.

Marvel's Avengers may not have been the hit Square Enix was hoping for but the publisher is ready to take another swing at the Marvel universe later this month with Guardians of the Galaxy. The game is set to release next week, and judging by the newly released PC system requirements, it's going to be a pretty big game.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit concerned about Monster Hunter Rise coming to PC after initially launching on Switch. The game was originally built to run on very low-power hardware compared to Monster Hunter World and I had my doubts as to how well the game would scale for higher-end PC hardware. After spending some time with the newly released Monster Hunter Rise PC demo, I have come away impressed. 

Earlier this week, Activision announced Ricochet anti-cheat, a new system being implemented to protect Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone from cheaters. This new form of anti-cheat includes a kernel-level driver, providing deeper access to your system to closely monitor any software interacting with Call of Duty. It would have been a strong method of anti-cheat, but the kernel-level driver has already leaked, giving cheat creators a huge head start. 

Kitguru has been working with AMD on creating a bespoke custom system we nicknamed ‘The BEHEMOTH’ . This project creation took many hundreds of man hours and captured the attention of a large audience. When the project was completed AMD decided we should give it away to one lucky Kitguru reader. For years now, 1440p gaming monitors have primarily been sold with up to 165Hz refresh rates. Now, monitor makers are starting to push well beyond that, with Acer’s latest gaming display boasting QHD resolution at 300Hz.

As the launch of Intel Arc GPUs comes closer, we're learning more about the upcoming graphics cards. This week, Intel graphics lead, Raja Koduri, revealed more about the Arc GPU architecture, touching on supply, drivers, custom GPUs and crypto mining. 

Recent rumours have claimed that Nvidia is working on multiple new RTX 30 series graphics cards. Apparently, we're not only going to get Super series GPUs, but there may also be an RTX 3090 Ti on the way. According to reports, the RTX 3090 Ti may come with a new PCIe 5.0 connector, capable of delivering up to 600W of power.

Kingston recently announced a new line up of FURY branded memory - based around this they decided to raise some awareness with KitGuru readers and sent Leo a bunch of new hardware for us to build a system. As well as the new hardware, Kingston also decided to send Leo a massive box of Kingston branded Merch. We have to admit that watching Leo playing with Kingston branded Merch gave Kitguru staff quite a chuckle this morning.

While the VR industry is still relatively small when compared to the likes of console gaming, the niche market has found success in the standalone headset subcategory - namely the Oculus quest 2. It seems Valve is betting on standalone headsets too, as a data mine has revealed that the company is working on a Standalone headset.

With Death Stranding: Director’s Cut arriving today, I have decided to take a look back at the game, and will make the argument that Death Stranding is in fact one of the smartest and most involving games I have ever played in terms of the gameplay, making it in my opinion the best open world game, and one of the few that actually deserves to be an open world.
