AMD has announced the release of its new Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000 WX-Series processors featuring an update to Zen 3 architecture. While Nvidia initially planned to reveal more details on the RTX 3090 Ti in January, but that timeline swiftly went out the window when production faced delays, as we reported at the time. Now, Nvidia is reportedly planning to launch its new RTX 30 series flagship on the 29th of March, and the previously rumoured 16GB RTX 3070 Ti has been scrapped. 

The group behind a recent cyber attack on Nvidia has leaked more sensitive data. After attempts to force Nvidia to open source its graphics drivers failed, the group began leaking more data, this time impacting over 71,000 employees. 

Microsoft has gone all-in on Xbox Game Pass, allowing users across PC, Xbox and mobile to play a large library of games for one monthly cost. Sony is currently juggling between two services: PS+ and PS Now. As part of the company’s rumoured refocus on PS+ however, the latter service has started to disappear from users’ PlayStations.

For years now, there have been rumours around a Switch Pro, with a newer Nvidia SoC and support for features like DLSS. At this point, a Switch 2 is looking far more likely than a mid-gen refresh, and we finally have confirmation of such a product existing thanks to recent Nvidia leaks. 

Over the weekend, hackers were able to break into Nvidia's systems and steal roughly 1TB worth of confidential files. So far, the group behind the attack claims to have source code, drivers, an LHR bypass, schematics and more and now, some of these files have begun leaking - starting with the source code for DLSS. 

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass is a highly valued service, offering many first and third party games for one relatively low subscription. The primary issues surrounding Game Pass is the fact that it is hosted using Microsoft’s PC’s store – though this may change in the future.

A good number of developers at Ubisoft have been just as confused as the rest of us by the publisher's recent push into the NFT market. Back in 2020, AMD announced plans to acquire Xilinx in a deal worth roughly $35 billion. Like any major acquisition, the deal was subject to regulatory approval, which was finally granted this week.

In January, Microsoft announced plans to acquire Activision Blizzard for a record-setting $70 billion. Upon regulatory approval, that will give Xbox full control over some of the biggest franchises in gaming. To avoid setting off alarm bells for regulators, this week Microsoft has made some public assurances, such as keeping Call of Duty multiplatform, even after Activision Blizzard's current contracts with rival console makers expire. 

Recent rumours have indicated that Battlefield 2042 could be in for a huge shake-up this year, including a possible jump to a free to play model. This was followed by the announcement that the first season of post-launch content has been delayed to 'summer 2022', leaving those who purchased the game to deal with a massive content drought. Now, those players are calling for EA to offer mass refunds.

Nvidia has officially given up on its plan to acquire fellow chip maker Arm for a record-setting $40 billion. Arm parent company, SoftBank, announced that the deal has been scrapped this week following "significant regulatory challenges". 

Back in August, we learned that Google was hiring new Stadia employees to work on licensing its streaming tech out to game developers and publishers, in lieu of focusing on first-party games and bringing consumers on to Stadia directly. Now, it seems that plan is very much in motion, with Google reportedly being in talks with the likes of Bungie and Capcom.

Ubisoft has faced plenty of criticism in recent months over its push into the NFT market. That criticism isn't just coming from gamers either - Ubisoft's own employees are equally baffled by the publisher's insistence on being part of the NFT market. In an effort to win those employees over, the publisher has now begun gifting Ghost Recon Breakpoint NFTs to its staff. 

Rockstar doesn't tend to operate with the industry standard playbook, often choosing to make huge announcements seemingly out of nowhere, rather than saving news for a major event like E3, or even hosting an event of its own. The company won't be making exceptions to that rule anytime soon, as we've received some major Grand Theft Auto announcements today. 

Previous AMD roadmaps have shown that the company plans to introduce its next-gen RDNA3 GPU architecture before the end of 2022. So far, AMD has said little publicly about RDNA3, but that is beginning to change, with the company reaffirming plans to launch this year.
