Microsoft claims it could get Call of Duty and Warzone running natively on Switch

While Microsoft has signed a legal agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo consoles if the Activision Blizzard acquisition goes through, there has been doubt as to whether or not we'd see Call of Duty on the Switch. As it turns out, Microsoft is pretty confident that it could get a native version of the game working, even on the Switch's ageing hardware.

GTA 6 targeting Holiday 2024 release according to leaker

We have long known that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development and while Rockstar Games themselves have yet to officially announce the game, last year saw a huge data breach leak a bunch of in-development GTA 6 footage. With GTA V nearing its 10th anniversary, many fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement and release of the game’s sequel. Nvidia continues to dominate in Steam Hardware Survey results

Given that the vast majority of PC gamers use Steam, Valve's Steam Hardware Survey usually offers a decent look at PC hardware trends and adoption. The February 2023 Steam Hardware Survey results have now been shared and it looks like new-gen GPUs from Nvidia are finally starting to be more widely used, although AMD's RX 7900 series has yet to appear on the list.

While Destiny managed to find success and usher in the age of 'live service' games, many other publishers have tried and failed to replicate that formula. While it seemed that Marvel's Avengers might have had a good shot, content exclusivity controversies, a lacking end-game and an empty post-launch roadmap meant that the game never found its feet. Steam users downloaded 44.7 exabytes of data in 2022

The PC gaming platform has continued to go from strength to strength. Matching the trends seen within the console gaming market, PC gaming is bigger than ever, with Valve sitting comfortably at the top thanks to the near ubiquity of its Steam service. Unsurprisingly, 2022 represented the biggest year ever for the platform in many ways – including data delivery – with Valve revealing that almost 45 exabytes of data was downloaded last year.

AMD ends RX 6000 driver drought

Intel’s latest Arc driver brings big improvements to DX9 gaming performance

This week, Intel began rolling out a new graphics driver for its Arc GPUs. The driver launched earlier this morning, but it is only now that we can talk about the big improvements this driver brings. Since Arc's launch, Intel's engineers have been hard at work to polish up performance, particularly in DX9 titles. With this new driver, Intel has delivered up to 43 percent better performance in DX9 with smoother frame times too.
