Latest Nvidia RTX 4070 rumours claim 2475MHz boost clock speed

Nvidia unveiled the RTX 4070 Ti last month at CES and it seems the RTX 4070 won't be too far behind. According to recent reports, board partners are currently in the process of preparing custom RTX 4070 graphics cards, and we may already know the GPU's base and boost clock speeds.

As per T4C Fantasy (via VideoCardz), the Nvidia RTX 4070 should have a base clock speed of 1,920MHz and a boost clock speed of 2,475MHz, lower than the RTX 4070 Ti. Moreover, it has been reported that there would be two reference models of the RTX 4070, but it's unclear what the differences are between the two and if both will be available at the same time.

The leaker also claimed that an AIB partner has already decided on the specifications of its custom RTX 4070 graphics cards. That would be Colorful with its iGame Ultra White OC line, which reportedly has a boost clock of 2,505MHz, 30MHz more than the reference value.

Based on previous rumours, the RTX 4070 should come with an AD104 GPU with 5,888 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR6X memory running at 21Gbps across a 192-bit memory bus for a maximum bandwidth of 504GB/s. All that would come in a 200W TDP. The RTX 4070 cards are expected to enter mass production this month, so we could still see them available in Q1 2023.

KitGuru says: Based on the rumoured specifications of the RTX 4070, the upcoming GPU will be slower than the RTX 4070 Ti. However, depending on pricing, this could be this generation's most successful RTX card.
