BitFenix has gone from strength to strength and its latest cases are getting increasingly impressive with the relatively large-small Prodigy mini-ITX case taking the world with storm. At Computex the company also unveiled a second new model which is known as Ghost, much more traditional case but with a few interesting tweaks.

The Ghost is BitFenix first attempt at a lower noise solution with “Serenitek” noise dampening material fitted to the door on the chassis as well as the side panels. It also comes with a pair of 120mm BitFenix Spectre fans pre-installed, although it has room for a fair few more fans if needed. All the hard drive trays are also said to feature some kind of anti-vibration mechanism.

With room for three external 5.25-inch drives, on external 3.5-inch drive, four internal 3.5-inch drives and three internal 2.5-inch drives the Ghost should be ideal for anyone looking at going down the SSD route. The recessed 2.5-inch drive bays should also make it easy to fit full-length graphics cards without the need of removing drive bays.

At the top of the chassis you’ll find two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, as well as a pair of audio jacks and the power and reset buttons. The only thing we didn’t really like about the Ghost was the door hinge which felt a bit on the cheap side in what was otherwise a solid chassis.

As for the Prodigy, BitFenix is planning a few new colours and was demoing it in Blue, Red and Orange. These are apparently colours, but the hues might still change slightly before launch. We’re not so sure about the colours, but at least it’s something out of the ordinary.

Kitguru says: If BitFenix keeps heading the way the company has, then we’re expecting great things in the future, as it’s pretty clear that the company is capable of coming up with some unique products that the competition hasn’t even considered.
