Since its announcement many years ago, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake has been mired with delays among other issues. Once again, following a long bout of silence the team have spoken out to confirm that work on KOTOR is still ongoing.
One year on from the last update, in which the game was said to be “alive and well,” Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch reaffirmed the team’s commitment to this title.
Speaking to Stephen Totilo via Game File (paywalled), Karch once again claimed that work on the remake is still ongoing. That said, the studio is having Disney take the reins when it comes to discussing the remake – meaning we won’t get any proper details until Disney itself chooses to share them.
Interestingly, Saber also subtly reiterated their ongoing work on the KOTOR remake publically, with COO Tim Willits taking to Twitter to write: “Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world. We are working on numerous games across many different genres. Everything that we have talked about is still in development. We will share information on upcoming games when we have something cool to share.”
While the KOTOR remake has so far suffered quite a few different set backs, hopefully Saber’s continued commitment to the game winds up paying off for both the studio and fans in the long run.
