Today at CES 2025, AMD is launching a range of new processors aimed at the next generation of laptops. Today we see the arrival of Ryzen AI Max and the Ryzen AI Max PRO series CPUs, as well as a range of Ryzen 200 and Ryzen 200 PRO CPUs, which will be found in hundreds of laptop models in 2025.
The new Ryzen AI Max Series processors aim to offer workstation-level performance, with up to 16 “Zen 5” CPU cores, up to 40 AMD RDNA 3.5 graphics compute units, and an AMD XDNA 2 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with up to 50 TOPS of AI processing ability. Systems powered by Ryzen AI Max and Ryzen AI Max PRO Series Processors are expected to be available starting in Q1 2025. In the table below, you can see the full specs for each SKU:

There will also be a range of base Ryzen AI 300 and PRO series processors, offering up to eight Zen 5 CPU cores, paired with RDNA 3.5 graphics, but you'll get fewer cores and a smaller cache compared to the MAX versions.
The Ryzen 200 and Ryzen 200 PRO series processors are also on the way. These are Zen 4 alternatives for cheaper laptops. You'll get up to eight Zen 4 CPU cores, and RDNA 3 graphics with an NPU capable of 16 TOPS of AI performance. Laptops featuring these processors are due in Q2 2025.
On the gaming side, AMD is launching a new line-up of X3D CPUs for laptops equipped with 3D V-Cache. You can see the full specs in the table below:
