Nvidia's upcoming RTX 5060 series memory specs have been leaked. The new leaks also suggest that the series will include an RTX 5060 Ti and an RTX 5060, both featuring GDDR7 memory.
According to Wccftech, both cards will use the same PG152 reference board and will likely be powered by the GB206 GPU. While the exact CUDA core count remains unknown, the leak sheds light on the memory specifications, which are quite interesting.
The RTX 5060 Ti is rumoured to pack 16GB of GDDR7 memory, while the RTX 5060 is expected to feature 8 GB. Both cards will reportedly use a 128-bit memory bus, similar to their predecessors. However, the key upgrade lies in the memory speed. Using GDDR7 memory, the RTX 5060 series is expected to have its memory clocked at 28 Gbps. If that's the case, it would increase memory bandwidth by over 55% compared to the RTX 4060 series, reaching 448 GB/s.
While details about CUDA core counts, new technologies, TDP, and the PCIe standard are still scarce, it's safe to assume that the RTX 5060 series will adopt PCIe 5.0. However, the rumored 8 GB VRAM configuration for the RTX 5060 might raise some eyebrows. With the increasing demands of modern games, especially at 1440p resolution, 8 GB might be considered a limiting factor. This contrasts with the recently launched Intel Arc B580, which offers 12 GB of VRAM in the same price segment.
It's worth noting that these are still early rumours, and Nvidia could adjust the specifications before launch. The RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 are expected to launch in February or March 2025.
KitGuru says: If the RTX 5060 is limited to 8GB of VRAM, Nvidia might have to adjust its pricing to remain relevant at the entry-level. Otherwise, the Intel B580 might be the better bang for the buck, assuming the blue team can improve its drivers.
