Marvel Rivals reaches 10 million players in the first 72 hours

Marvel Rivals is off to a heroic start, racking up an impressive player count in its first few days of release. The free-to-play hero shooter has already attracted nearly 10 million players, putting it on track to rival established titles like Overwatch 2.

Launched on December 6th, Marvel Rivals has quickly captured the attention of gamers. After just 72 hours, the game had already pulled in over 10 million players across all platforms, which include PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. To put Marvel Rivals' early success into perspective, Overwatch 2, its closest competitor, reached 25 million players within 10 days of its launch.

Featuring a roster of 33 playable Marvel characters, including iconic heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, and Wolverine, the game offers a diverse and entertaining experience for fans of the Marvel universe. With eight maps and a variety of game modes, including Convergence (King of the Hill), Convoy (Escort), and Conquest (a hybrid of Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed), Marvel Rivals provides ample variety and replayability.

Season 0: Doom's Rise is underway, but the developer has already announced another season, which will kick off in January 2025. The developer has promised it will keep launching free content updates, including new maps, modes, and characters, ensuring the game remains fresh and engaging for players.
