Lenovo Legion Go leak reveals the new console and some of its specifications

Lenovo's rumoured handheld gaming PC, the Legion Go S, has once again become the target of leaks. This time, we're getting a detailed look at the specifications, including confirmation that it uses an AMD Ryzen Z2 Go APU.

According to WinFuture (via Notebookcheck), the Legion Go S, previously referred to as a “Lite” variant of the original Legion Go, will be powered by the Ryzen Z2 Go, a custom AMD APU designed for handheld gaming devices. Based on AMD's Rembrandt silicon, the Z2 Go features 8 Zen 3+ cores clocked at 3.0 GHz, placing it between the Ryzen 7 6800U and Ryzen 7 6800H in performance. It also packs the Radeon 680M integrated graphics with 12x RDNA 2 CUs. The APU is then paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory.

The original Legion Go used an 8.8-inch display, but the Legion Go S will sport a slightly smaller 8-inch IPS LCD screen with a 1920×1200 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. However, it retains the 120 Hz refresh rate. Battery life is also getting a boost, with the Legion Go S rumoured to pack a 55.5 Wh battery, a decent upgrade over the 49.2 Wh battery of the original Legion Go.

Storage-wise, the Legion Go S will include a 512GB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD. However, it will utilize the smaller 2242 form factor, which might limit upgrade options compared to the more common 2280 form factor. Other notable features include Windows 11 Home, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 support. The Legion Go S is expected to launch in white and be priced at around €600 (about £500).
