Marvel Rivals Battle Passes won’t expire at the end of a Season

Battle Passes have become one of the prime ways that live-service titles monetise their games in the long-run. While in and of itself not a bad system, most games choose to make the battle pass rewards obtainable only during that specific season. Fortunately, Marvel Rivals is not taking this tactic – confirming that their battle passes have no expiration date.

In a welcome move, the Marvel Rivals team shared exactly how they plan to monetise the free-to-play title; revealing a rather consumer-friendly approach.

As stated in their latest blog post, unlike almost every other game with a battle pass system “once you purchase a Luxury Battle Pass [in Marvel Rivals], you can continue to redeem its rewards in subsequent seasons if you don’t finish it during the current season. There’s no need to worry about not having enough time to complete it.”

Full details on all the different forms of monetisation (including how they plan to handle paid bundles) can be found HERE, but regardless it is nice to see that Marvel Rivals won’t be employing as many FOMO-based tactics as other live-service titles.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Marvel Rival’s monetisation plans? Would you purchase more battle passes if they didn’t expire? Will you be hopping in from Season 0 when it launches later today? Let us know down below.
